Kanya Kiran envisages to observe the National Girl Child Day this year by raising awareness of the harmful impact of child marriage and by encouraging open, inclusive and informed discussion at the community, local, national and international level and defend girls’ rights to health, education and the opportunity to fulfil their potential. Who we are?

We are a flagship initiative of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KIIT & KISS) with an to create a safe environment by ensuring Zero Tolerance to Sexual Violence in Odisha and promoting awareness on education. This platform is for everybody – men, women and third gender individuals – because perpetrators and victims can be any gender.

To raise awareness and concern about the levels of sexual assault and harassment prevalent in Odisha and India.

To raise awareness – in accessible languages – about what constitutes sexual violence, consent, and respect

To raise awareness about systems of reporting & statewide and national tools of support available for victims

To increase the momentum of statewide conversations (and ensuing actions) on sexual assault prevention

To create an environment of ZERO TOLERANCE
